Builds are unsigned, and here is why.

A Windows certificate and an Apple developer account cost money every year, and Nuvo is free. So your system cannot tell who made the file and may warn you the first time. Every release lists SHA-256 checksums so you can check the file yourself.

What to press on each system

AGPL-3.0-or-later. You can read, change and rebuild every line.

Install in a minute

  1. Download the AppImage
  2. Make it executable: chmod +x Nuvo-*.AppImage
  3. Run it. Write down your 24 words when Nuvo shows them.

Good to know

  • Nuvo keeps the library key in a Secret Service keyring. Without one it uses a private file you can seal with a passphrase.
  • yt-dlp, ffmpeg and a JavaScript runtime are optional. They power pasted video links and MP3 saves.
  • Nuvo streams from YouTube Music and SoundCloud and plays your own folders. It does not host music.
