Sound

The equalizer, loudness normalization, speed and pitch, reverb, sleep timer, A-B loop and moments.

Open the sound panel from the player bar, or go to Settings, Sound.

Equalizer

Ten bands at 31, 62, 125, 250, 500 Hz and 1, 2, 4, 8, 16 kHz, each from -12 to +12 dB. You edit one smooth curve over a live spectrum.

  • Drag a handle to change a band. Values snap to 0.5 dB, and to 0.1 dB with Shift.
  • Presets: Flat, Bass boost, Bass reducer, Vocal, Treble boost, Loudness, Electronic, Rock, Hip-hop, Acoustic, Podcast, Night.
  • Auto gain (on by default) lowers the preamp when you boost, so the sound does not clip.
  • Changes ramp over 20 ms, so you hear no clicks.

Loudness normalization

“Even out loudness” evens volume between tracks. Nuvo measures a cached track in idle time and applies a gain toward a common level. It limits the gain so peaks stay under -1 dBFS.

Speed and pitch

Set speed and pitch, linked or unlinked. Presets:

Preset Speed Pitch Reverb
Normal 1.00 0 none
Slowed 0.85 linked none
Slowed and reverb 0.85 linked yes
Sped up 1.25 linked none
Nightcore 1.25 +3 semitones none
Daycore 0.80 -2 semitones yes

“Keep speed across tracks” decides whether the next track keeps your setting.

Crossfade

Settings, Playback sets crossfade from 0 to 12 seconds. See playback.

Sleep timer

Stop after a number of minutes, at the end of the current track, or at the end of the queue.

A-B loop

Set A and B on the seek line, or with [ and ]. \ clears the loop. The loop repeats until you clear it.

Moments

A moment marks a position in a track so you can jump back to it.

Output

Settings, Sound lets you pick the audio output device.
