Network and proxy
Set a proxy, run the network check, and read its results.

Proxy
Enter an address in Proxy address and save it. Leave the field empty for a direct connection. Username and password are optional and have their own fields.
The address takes this form: scheme://host:port.
- Schemes:
http,https,socks5,socks5h. - A port is required.
- Nothing may follow the port: no path, query or fragment.
socks5hresolves host names through the proxy.socks5resolves them on your machine.- Keep credentials out of the address, they have their own fields.
ffmpeg understands only plain http:// proxies. It cannot use socks5 or socks5h. The checks that happen before and after a redirect resolve host names to refuse private addresses. A malicious proxy or resolver can still bypass that check.
Network check
“Check connection” tests the services Nuvo uses: YouTube Music, YouTube, the Google video servers, YouTube thumbnails, SoundCloud and LRCLIB (lyrics). For each host it runs three steps with a 5 second limit: DNS, a TCP connection, and an HTTPS request. All hosts run at once. It also checks the proxy, your clock against the server’s clock, and your tools.
When something fails, Nuvo names the cause it finds. If several apply, the first of these wins, from top to bottom:

The check flags a clock that differs from the server’s by more than five minutes. Fix your system time if it does.
Copy a report
“Copy report” puts versions, the daemon state and the last check on your clipboard. It has no library, no paths and no passwords. Attach it to a bug report.
When YouTube blocks playback
Sign in with your account in Settings, YouTube. Update yt-dlp if it is older than 90 days. See troubleshooting.
